Welcome to the CEMPOWER blog, hosted by the Faculty of Computing, Engineering, and Media (CEM). Here, we invite you to explore content centered around our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
We are proud to have a diverse faculty of students and staff, and through this platform and our social media channels, we will share and celebrate their stories and achievements.
Our dedication to fostering an inclusive environment for all is evident through our ongoing activities. At the heart of our efforts lies the Faculty EDI Committee, convening regularly to deliberate upon pivotal matters and ensure the continuous enhancement and evolution of our EDI activities.
In anticipation of the forthcoming academic year 2023/24, we’re elevating our EDI events. Our program features sessions and workshops to mark events such as; International Women’s Day, Black History Month, Disability History Month, and DMU Pride.
A significant stride in our journey is the revival of the Women in STEM Society for the 2023/24 term—a testament to our unwavering commitment to empowering and amplifying the voices of women in the STEM disciplines.
Remaining firmly attuned to the pulse of our ever-evolving landscape, we engage in a continuous process of scrutinizing data and recalibrating our EDI goals. This ensures that our initiatives are focused on addressing current challenges and fostering meaningful improvements where they matter most.
